Happy Thanksgiving!

Say hello to my little 6 week old baby girl! She is changing so much, and as you can see, she's at the point of giving people really big smiles. So happens that she turned 6 weeks a day before her very first Thanksgiving. It was wonderful, even though we didn't get up in time to watch the Thanksgiving Day parade. It was okay because we got the chance to go over to my aunt's house to visit with her and our cousins. Great food, good company, a good time was had by all!

Other than that, we have been spending the weekend trying to get things together in the house, because tomorrow (drum roll and Kleenex ready please), I start back to work. Okay, so I'm glad to be going back because I'm broke, but I want to take her back with me! Can't I just put her bassinet over in a corner of my office? It would be such a great thing, and everyone would be happy. Cut back on child care, although my mom would be taking care of her while I was at work. But things would be great around the office. People would be happy and carefree! I kid...but anyway, I'm going to try to get through this week without breaking down...too much.

Well, I'm going to go and eat. Hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I'm looking forward to the next few weeks, especially her first Christmas!

Let's see...

As of today, the peanut is 5 weeks old. This means that I have about a week and some days to go before I return back to work. Already dreading it...already trying to figure out how we're going to transition between being at home all of the time with her and then suddenly going back to work. You know what I wish? I wish that I could afford to stay at home all day, working out, sewing, and playing with the peanut. And when she got older, I could home school her. But alas, I am forced to work because we are in some troubling times, people. Folks are coming out of retirement all because of their retirement funds are running out, or not enough to help them survive. I just hope that soon, I will be able to provide for the peanut like I should. Until then, I'm going to enjoy these last few days before I have to go back to work. *sigh*

I was meaning to post this picture the day I wrote this post, but I forgot. Here she is, taking a nap with her Uncle Tink.

I'm 4 Weeks Old Today!

If Peanut could speak and/or type her own blog, this is what she would say:

Hello Everyone! I'm taking over for my mom's blog today, just to give you a bit of an update on my progress, so here we go! As of today, I am 4 weeks old. In some circles, I would be a month old. I'm not all up on that mumbo jumbo, so let's just leave it at 4 weeks and counting. I'm all kind of excited about this cause that just means I'm getting older, bigger, and starting to boss my mama and the rest of my family around with all of the different little noises that I'm making. I'm especially eating a lot more, so that means stronger, healthier bones, and the possibility of being taller than mom! I'm looking forward to that because, if you haven't noticed, my mom is short. Oh, and mom is taking more and more pictures of me, as you can see with this one, while I was asleep.

It can get annoying at times, but due to my inability to effectively communicate with my mother in her language, she doesn't understand it. Oh, she gets it when I begin to cringe and wiggle a lot, but I think she takes that as a showing of being cute and a baby. Crazy human lady. Well, I'm going to go and take a nap now. I swear, sometimes this woman just won't let me sleep! She's always waking me up, changing my diaper, and feeding me...well, that's not so bad, but she could at least wait until I wake up! Anyway, gotta go!

Three weeks, and still a bundle of joy!

So this week marked her three weeks on this earth, and she is just as vocal and wiggly as ever! She's eating more, of course, and she's plumping up a lot. I'm still suffering from carpal tunnel, so trying to pick her up is very painful, but I don't care! I absolutely love just hugging her!

Well, that's about it for now. I'm planning on taking her up to my office next week, and possibly up to the U of M to see some of my old co-workers. Can't wait for the rest of the world to meet her!
